A Prominent Supernatural Character from Archie Comics is Headed to Riverdale

And, yes, Veronica is still a Pussycat.

Archie and the gang hit San Diego Comic Con this weekend! The cast of Riverdale relentlessly teased us on Saturday, offering up just enough information to get us interested without really giving anything away. If you’re like us, you are absolutely dying for any new information about this addicting show. We’ve got your Riverdale fix!

For those of you who don’t know (where is the rock you’ve been living under?) Riverdale is a show on The CW that follows characters from the classic Archie comics, but with a mysterious and sexy spin. It stars KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Cole Sprouse, Camila Mendes, and Madelaine Petsch. The show has been a hit with critics and fans alike, and is one of the most social shows around.

We gathered up the highlights from The Riverdale panel, including the sneak peek and blooper reel!

“Cheryl gets colder and meaner in season two and starts to take back the reins of her family.”

That’s a little surprising! If anything, most fans expected Cheryl to start to get nicer at the series progressed.

It looks like Riverdale will be including a little more LGBT+ representation in their second season by bringing in a bisexual character.

“Toni Topes is coming to the show. She is a Southside Serpent and Jughead’s guide. She is bisexual.”

Veronica fans will be happy to know that a certain storyline hasn’t been dropped:

“Veronica is still a Pussycat in Season Two.”

But, they may have to take some bad with the good:

“Veronica’s ex from NY is coming and he’s a bad boy who brings out her dark side.”

As far as fan-favorite character Jughead, it seems he’s more an outsider than ever:

“Jughead will be at a new school and very much the outsider.”

We also may hear from his very much not fan-favorite mother:

“We may see Jughead’s mother in the second half of the season but they have to cast the right person.”

And perhaps the most exciting part of the panel came at the end when the Riverdale gang hinted at the appearance of a prominent supernatural character from the comics. We have our theories on who this could be, but we’d rather hear from you! Who do you think is headed to Riverdale?

Check out the hilarious Riverdale blooper reel and a sneak peek at the second season below!
