Meet this year’s Brave New Warriors and See the Highlights from the Comic-Con Panel

“I love seeing and playing characters who are on a journey of redemption.”

Entertainment Weekly’s Brave New Warriors panel has always been a highlight for San Diego Comic-Con in past years. The panel was moderated by EW’s Linette Rice, and the panel guests were Colin O’Donoghue (Once Upon a Time) Christopher Meloni (Happy!), David Harbour (Stranger Things), Ricky Whittle (American Gods), Rodrigo Santoro (Westworld), and Richard Rankin (Outlander).

The six guys shared everything from insight into the TV show they work on, to their thoughts about the other actors at the panel. They discussed roles they regret, things they love about their current roles, and even some hidden talents. Things we learned: Colin can shuffle with one hand, Ricky thinks he can, and they all love group hugs.

The 2017 Brave New Warriors had a lot to say during the panel, and we’ve gathered some highlights below!

On his new role in Happy!, Christopher Meloni shared:

“I love seeing and playing characters who are on a journey of redemption.”

When asked about his role in Stranger things and progressing from being a jerk at the start, David Harbour said:

“You can play with the audiences’ emotions. I don’t know if he’s going to be the hero he wants to be.”

And Richard Whittle had this to say about playing Shadow Moon:

“He constantly gets back up and keeps moving forward.”
