Bright & Death Note: “You have never seen a bad ass female villain like this in your life!”

Netflix previewed two of their upcoming films at San Diego Comic Con on Thursday – Bright and Death Note. Bright is set in a mystical universe where orcs and elves walk among everyday humans. It stars Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, Noomi Rapace, Lucy Fry, Edgar Ramirez, Ike Barinholtz, Andrea Navedo, and Brad William Henke.
Death Note is a supernatural thriller based on the manga series of the same name. It stars Nat Wolff, Keith Stanfield, Margaret Qualley, Willem Dafoe, Shea Whigham, Paul Nakauchi, Jessica McLeod, and Michael Shamus Wiles.
The casts of these two shows had a lot to say at the panel, and we gathered up the highlights below!
About Bright, Will Smith said this clever line:
“Once you go orc, you never go back.”
Terry Crews told us about our female villian:
“You have never seen a bad ass female villain like this in your life!”
Lucy Fry told us a little about Bright’s storyline:
“Bright is a magic user and my character is in possession of an ancient relic.”
And David Ayers had this to say about the setting:
“It’s about a really f**ked up LA.”
In regards to Death Note, Adam Wingard gave us some insight into the genre:
“It’s the ultimate genre mashup.”
As far as the characters go, Keith Stanfield shared that:
“We’re all weird.”
