The Defenders assemble in front of NYCC fans for the first time following the first look at Iron Fist, coming to Netflix in March 2017.
It’s safe to say that 2017 is going to be a hit for the Marvel series on Netflix. After just releasing a well-received season 1 of Luke Cage in September, those behind the success and genius of the Netflix Marvel brought a new teaser trailer for Iron Fist and finally announced a release date. Danny Rand (played by Game of Thrones star Finn Jones) will finally come to our screens on March 17, 2017. The main cast gathered together for a Q&A in front of fans in Ballroom 20 and presented an action-packed teaser trailer. Finn Jones answered questions about his rigorous training regiment to be able to perform the martial arts needed for the role. And after a fantastic character arc in Luke Cage, Rosario Dawson was praised by other members of the cast about how “bad-ass” her character, Claire Temple, is as she makes an appearance a fourth Netflix Marvel series. Upon the conclusion of the panel, the crowd got surprise assembling of all four members of the upcoming team-up series, The Defenders. Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Mike Coulter (Luke Cage) and of course Finn Jones (Iron Fist) stood together for the first time representing yet another epic Marvel team of superheroes straight from the pages of the comics.
