“There’s not a lot of happy” for the Shadowhunters this season

San Diego Comic Con promised an inside look behind the scenes of Freeform’s shadowhunters, and boy did they deliver! We learned so much about what is yet to come on this season of the hit TV show, and just a warning – it’s not all sunshine and rainbows.

Shadowhunters is a hit TV series on Freeform, based on The Mortal Instruments book series. The show stars Kat McNamara, Mathew Daddario, Dominic Sherwood, Emeraude Toubia, Harry Shum Jr., and Alberto Rosende.

Fans of Shadowhunters may be disappointed to hear that their favorite characters are going to be having a rough time for the foreseeable future:

“There’s not a lot of happy for the rest of the season.” – Kat McNamara

It seems this is especially true in regards to “Clace”, the fan favorite relationship between Clary and Jace.

“We are a ways away” – Dominic Sherwood on how far we are from “Clace”.

Still discussing the couple, Sherwood continued,

“They haven’t had an opportunity to explore a relationship in a conventional sense.”

To make matters worse, he even added that,

“It gets worse before it gets better.”

When asked about her character, Kat explained that,

“Clary has the best of intentions but doesn’t always make the best choices.”

And in regards to Izzy, Alberto Rosende complemented her strength:

“The reason Isabelle is so strong is because we see those moments of doubt.”

And finally, we learned one very important detail about the Shadowhunters cast:

“The whole cast ships ‘Malec.’”
