Fan Expo 2017: Mark Hamill On Movies, Voice Acting, and Missing Carrie

“I think Carrie would want us to remember her the way she was, and be happy…to laugh again.”

Although perhaps best known for his role as young Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, the multi-talented Mark Hamill has had a long and extensive career spanning decades. Many Batman fans know his vocal turn as the Joker, and he is also no stranger to Broadway or theatre. Mark has not only worked alongside some of the most brilliant actors and directors, but he has also touched so many people with his numerous characters. While he is not a stranger to comic conventions, his appearance at Fan Expo Dallas 2017 is a rare moment for Texas fans.

As soon as he steps onto the stage, Mark jokes that he needs to get over his nerves by “picturing the audience naked.” He also quips that

“Gee, it’s exciting to feel this energy. Makes me wish I actually prepared something.”

After talking a little bit about his experience guest starring as The Trickster on CW’s The Flash, Mark went on to talk about the first time that he ever laid eyes on the script for Star Wars. Watch the clip here:

He also laughingly recalled the phone call he got from George Lucas regarding the Star Wars Holiday Special. See what he said about it below:

Of course, not everyone sitting in the audience was there to hear Mark talk about Star Wars, and he made sure to give his Batman fans a little gift as well. When asked about his role as The Joker, Mark immediately gave the fans a taste of his various voices.

When asked about working with the late Sir Alec Guinness, Mark had this to say about him:

“He was the sweetest, gentlest, most wonderful epitome of an English gentleman.”

You can also see a little snippet of his best Alec Guinness imitation below (spoiler – it’s amazing!)

Of course, what we feel was the highlight of the entire panel was when Mark discussed his visit to the set of Rogue One. The revelation he says he learned will have you rolling!

There was so much more to his panel – he went over by a half hour and would have kept going – that we wish we could share with you here. You can see a few of the gems below:

Lightweight and translucent, this is the case that catches attention in lieu of avoiding it.
Other appliances that homeowners should maintain to make sure they’re running better and longer would
be the HVAC system on your hvac needs. Also, since I’m a
Netflix user, I’m particularly pumped up about the new app that arrived knowning
that allows Netflix customers to observe movies from other instant queue
    on their Touch.
