Kathryn Newton, according to ComingSoon, has been in negotiations to act opposite Justice Smith (The Get Down) in the lead female role in the Pokémon movie.

IT star, Jack Dylan Grazer, has been cast in Shazam! The release date of the “world’s mightiest mortal” played by Zachary Levi is set for an April 2019 release.

DC’s Aquaman standalone film and Marvel’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix both released first look photos of their upcoming films. Aquaman’s release date is set for December 21, 2018, and the new X-Men installment is set for November 2, 2018.

Variety has announced that the Girl’s Trip alum, Regina Hall has been cast in the new installment of the Shaft franchise. Hall will star opposite Samuel L. Jackson as the former love interest to ‘John Shaft’ and mother to the younger Shaft. The Tim Story-directed sequel,  scripted by Alex Barnow and Kenya Barris ‒ who also wrote Girl’s trip ‒ has set its date for June 14, 2019.

Keeping with the horror theme, Finn Wolfhard is set to star in the haunted house film– The Turning. The Stranger Things and IT star will play opposite Mackenzie Davis in the stirring film. Wolfhard will play one of the orphans, nannied by Davis in the haunted mansion.

The film, directed by Floria Sigismondi (American Gods, Daredevil), is set to start production in early 2018.

Tiffany Haddish has hopped onto the ‘satirical’ thriller The Oath as not only a cast member but also as an executive producer. Haddish and John Cho join the ensemble of Carrie Brownstein, Billy Magnussen, Meredith Hagner, Jon Barinholtz, Nora Dunn, and Chris Ellis. No character details have been reported.

Sylvester Stallone will no longer be directing Creed II, but The Land’s Steven Caple Jr. will be. According to Variety, Caple was picked personally by Stallone and Jordan. They both expressed their excitement to work with Caple on Twitter and Instagram posts. Caple also spoke about his feelings on joining the franchise.

“It’s an honor to be a part of such an iconic franchise and to work with such great collaborators,” Caple said. “Mike, Sly, and Tessa are extraordinarily talented and bring something special to today’s culture. I look forward to joining the family and continuing the precedent set by this franchise’s alumni of incredible filmmakers.”

The MGM film starring Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, and Tessa Thompson is set to premiere on November 21, 2018.

The official Marvel twitter account has released a new tv spot for Black Panther!

A new international trailer has also been released for Black Panther. This trailer gives us new footage of the highly-anticipated, star-studded installment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Black Panther follows T’Challa ‒ aka Chadwick Boseman ‒ who makes a return to his technologically-advanced home, after the death of his father ‒ the former king ‒ to take over the throne as the King of Wakanda. When a threat presents itself in the form of a former foe, T’Challa must gather allies to help him defeat the threat to save Wakanda and the dangered world.

The Ryan Coogler directed film stars Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Martin Freeman, alongside Angela Bassett and Forest Whitaker and more.

Catch Black Panther in theaters on February 16, 2018.

Some new Deadpool 2 promo art, featuring Cable, has been announced by Deadpool himself ‒ Ryan Reynolds. In true Reynolds fashion, he also released a poster, via a comical post on Twitter, showing a handcuffed Deadpool, after the announcement of 20th Century Fox being sold to Disney.

The Alex Garland directed sci-fi thriller, Annihilation, starring Natalie Portman, Gina Rodriguez, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny, and Oscar Isaac has a new trailer. The Paramount Pictures film will be released on February 23, 2018. Check it out below!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi starring Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Lupita Nyong’o just had its European premiere. Check out the night along with some world premiere moments here.  

The Addams Family animated feature film coming from MGM has set its release date for October 11, 2019. The Halloweenish feature will be based on the macabre clan (Charles Addams) and directed by Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2, Monsters vs. Aliens).
